Renacimiento Womens Cooperative

Strawberry, Vanilla, Orange Zest, Chocolate

The Renacimiento co-op is an all female run washing station, which works to produce only 300 bags of shade grown coffee annually. As well as coffee, they also produce bananas and have a bee-keeping program for honey export. The women who run the co-op work together to look after the drying patios, help with the growing, harvesting and processing, and also maintain and grow the communal organic fertiliser stock. They are taught how to contribute and build on the fertilisers and how to utilise the program to achieve the best results for their coffee.

Inglewood first purchased this coffee in 2018, and we have enjoyed experiencing the development of the coffee over the years. This year’s harvest is no exception with sweet strawberry and vanilla cream notes and a chocolatey finish.

El Jardin

Hazelnut, Chocolate Brownie, Praline, Red Apple

El Jardin is a group of neighbouring farms in the San Marcos region of Guatemala. San Marcos is an incredibly volcanic area located close to the border of Mexico.

The Volcanic soil has perfect nutrients for coffee plants
and the high elevation means cooler days creating a stable growing environment. The coffee is certified organic and the farmers use home-made fertiliser from the cherry pulp left over from wet-processing.

The coffee is processed at a central wet mill and fermented on the farms in barrels for 12-18 hours depending on the weather conditions.

Region: San Marcos

Altitude: 1800-2200 MASL

Varietal: Bourbon, Caturra

Process: Washed

El Vergel

Apricot, Peach, Pear, Toasted Almond

El Vergel is located in the San Marcos region of Guatemala. The coffee is grown within their dense rainforests which provides natural shade covering for the coffee trees. The high elevation of this region creates a cooler climate which allows the coffee cherries to mature slowly giving them their unique fruity sweetness.

The coffee is grown using organic fertilisers made on the farm using natural resources from the region such as ash, soil and rocks.

A delicate and refined cup the El Vergel is bursting with stone fruit, balanced by notes of sweet lemon and florals.
