TIB Coffee recently acquired a piece of land in the Muyinga district where they have built the Karambo Washing Station. They chose to build the station in Muyinga, rather than the popular coffee growing district of Kayanza, as it is less saturated and they believe Muyinga is an untouched gem that will produce outstanding specialty coffees.

Nestled in the heart of Burundi's lush and fertile highlands, the Karambo Washing Station is more than just a place where coffee is processed—it's a community hub, a place where tradition meets innovation, and where passion for coffee thrives. Karira Hill is a lot produced by smallholder farmers that is processed at the Karambo Washing Station

At Karambo Washing Station, the journey begins with the dedicated farmers who meticulously tend to their coffee plants on small family-owned plots. The rich volcanic soil, coupled with the region's ideal altitude and climate, provides the perfect conditions for growing high-quality coffee cherries. Each harvest is a labor of love, with farmers hand-picking only the ripest cherries to ensure the best possible flavour.
