Honey-processed coffee in Burundi is rare, but washing stations have begun experimenting, and this single-origin is one great result.

Produced in the highlands of Kayanza, in northern Burundi, this microlot has been processed at the Yandaro Washing Station. Ripe cherries are pulped and immediately placed on raised beds to dry. The cherries are then turned at regular intervals, akin to the Costa Rican honey process.

Flavour and fragrance are harmonious in the cup, with notes of orange, cooked apple, and caramel, with a candy-like sweetness.

This roast is best suited for espresso brew methods.
