Our Story
2011
Foundations
Inglewood Coffee Roasters was founded in 2017 by Julien Moussi and Cory Slater, who, after years of hands-on experience in the café industry, sought to create a business that embodied their passion for specialty coffee and outstanding customer service. The journey began when Moussi started a coffee cart, serving at local football events. This humble venture laid the foundation for Venues by Only and eventually Inglewood. The first café under Only Hospitality Group was Annoying Brother in Fitzroy, followed by My Other Brother in Camberwell, which continues to operate today as MOB Camberwell under Only Hospitality Group's leadership.
In 2014, Cory Slater came on board as a partner in the venues where he laid the groundwork for an elite specialty coffee program- out of which Inglewood Coffee Roasters was born. His desire to delve deep into the science of coffee transformed his career from barista to roaster and procurer of green coffee from all over the world.
2017
Expansion
By mid-2017, with six cafés under Julien’s belt, Cory joined the business where they established their own roasting facility in Coburg North, Melbourne and developed Inglewood Coffee Roasters. Initially roasting approximately 300 kilograms of coffee per week for their venues, the demand quickly increased with the rising desire for specialty coffee, leading to the need for a larger warehouse space.
2019
Inglewood Events
The team is also proud to bring people together through exciting events and collaborations. In 2019, Inglewood Events was added to the portfolio, offering flexible, unparalleled coffee experiences at corporate functions, sporting events, and unique pop-ups. With the use of bespoke coffee carts, tailored offerings, and personalised event services, Inglewood has become a leader in providing memorable coffee experiences.
2021
Facility Upgrade
In 2021, they moved to 23 Lionel Road, Mt Waverley, where they integrated cutting-edge technology into their operation, including the Loring S70 Peregrine roaster and the Goglio G21 bagging machine. These innovations helped increase efficiency and consistency, further elevating the quality of Inglewood’s coffee while boosting production capabilities.
2022
Inglewood Technical Department
Inglewood's commitment to exceptional service didn’t stop at the roastery. The Inglewood Service Department was established to ensure ongoing support for their customers, offering maintenance, repairs, and technical assistance to coffee equipment owners, including those who use their highly regarded coffee machines and accessories. This department reflects Inglewood’s commitment to offering a seamless, all-encompassing coffee experience from bean to cup.
2025
Inglewood at Home
Inglewood Coffee Roasters is now an Australian household staple, proudly enjoyed in over 70,000 homes across the country. In 2024, they launched a flexible subscription service, delivering freshly roasted coffee directly to your door. Whether you're at home, in the office, or on the go, our subscriptions are designed to fit seamlessly into your lifestyle.
