Gichathaini is one of three washing stations that form the Gikanda Farmers Cooperative Society. It serves 770 active smallholders near Karatina, east of Mt. Kenya. The region’s abundant rainfall and cool nights create ideal coffee-growing conditions. Ripe cherries are handpicked and delivered daily to the wet mill, where they’re sorted, washed with clean Ragati River water, and sun-dried on raised beds. This careful process preserves the coffee’s clarity and vibrant flavour in every cup.
